Ian McPhee

Ian McPhee is a retired Royal Air Force officer who moved with his wife, Ann, to Texas in 2009. His love of the American Saddlebred stemmed from seeing one of these magnificent athletes trotting down the rail at a local Barn.

Ian has been privileged to own a number of great Saddlebreds that exposed him to the delights of the various Divisions and he has competed in Five-gaited, Three-gaited, Fine Harness and Country Pleasure Driving.

Currently he competes in Hunt Seat with ‘Budget Cut’-aka Argyle and in the Road Pony Division with his Hackney pony Regal’s Sportscaster-aka Piper.

To share his love of the American Saddlebred Ian publish a booklet entitled “A Newcomer’s Guide to the American Saddlebred”. The book introduces the novice to the delights of the American Saddlebred.
